WhereIsMySun – Support

Last updated: November 2026 · Deutsch

WhereIsMySun flips the weather question: you say how far you feel like driving today, the app finds the sun within range and shows real places underneath it. No account, no sign-in.

Frequently asked questions

I don't see any destinations.

Destinations live on your device as country packs. Tap the globe in the top right and download the country you are in. Your home country is always free; every other country is unlocked by the “All Countries” purchase.

The app tells me to stay home.

That is on purpose. If it is just as nice where you are as anywhere within range, or no place has clearly better weather, the app will not force a destination. “Show places anyway” still shows the list, and a bigger radius means more chances.

Why is the weather judged on arrival?

Because you will only be there in an hour or two. The app includes the driving time and rates the forecast for the moment you arrive, not the weather right now.

Restore a purchase

“Remove Ads” and “All Countries” are one-off purchases through the App Store. After switching devices, tap “Restore purchase” in the country sheet or in the remove-ads dialog. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID. On Android, both purchases go through Google Play and are tied to your Google account; “Restore purchase” works the same way there.

Location without permission

You can decline location access and pick a place manually instead. Your precise location is used only for the forecast (Apple Weather) and for finding destinations on the device. On Android, the app only asks for your approximate location; for the drive time it is also sent to Google.

Where do weather and destinations come from?

Forecast: Apple Weather. Destinations: OpenStreetMap contributors, Wikidata and Wikipedia. Photos and short texts come from Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons; the source is linked on every destination. Drive time and map: Apple Maps, on Android Google Maps.
